What is Resume Writing?

Many job seekers think designing and formatting is resume writing. Far from it!

Design is just one aspect of resume writing. Formatting is another. For many though, resume writing is detailed work and highly time consuming as they are not skilled resume writers.

Resume writing is a form of copywriting. And copywriting is a form of selling. The word "copy" in this case is defined as words or content. So resume writing could be defined as the process of writing words (or content) that sells.

As far as the wording of your resume goes, the wording doesn't necessary have to be your own. The thoughts behind those words should be your thoughts, though.

Skilled resume writers, such as myself, often take the words you provide and tweak them to give them life. Yet, the words and thoughts are still your own.

I've handle projects in a wide variety of industries including, but not limited to, sales, management, finance and banking, IT, healthcare, and retail, entry-level, and college graduates..

Resume Writing and Free Tips Online
Surely you can get tips on web design, graphic design, SEO,  and a host of other topics on the internet. However, these tips are just that...tips. Sometimes a more detailed understanding of these subjects is often what is most needed to be effective.

The same applies to resume writing!

I've learned that just because something is free, it can still be costly in terms of lost opportunities. In this case, perhaps not securing a job sooner than later.

Now I confess that the key to job search success is not just an expensive resume. I would also add that the key to a successful job search might be a well written resume, regardless of who wrote it.

So the important question is...

What is Your Career Worth to You?
It's a fact that some people don't place a high monetary value on their career. And that's not necessary a good thing or bad thing. It just means people are different and have different values when it comes to priorities or their careers.

And that is okay by me.

By the way, every resume can be improved upon, even some resumes I write.

My motto:  Always be testing and tweaking.

Thank You
